Comments on: Google Mashup Editor vs Yahoo Pipes

Google Mashup Editor is not existing any more in year 2010, but yahoo pipes are still there. It works fine with YQL (Yahoo Query Language) and show as badges in my iGoogle.

I agree with ‘raman’ that GME and Yahoo! Pipes are complementary. I investigate interactions between them — in both directions — in my books “Creating Google Mashups with the Google Mashup Editor” and “Mashup Case Studies with Yahoo! Pipes”.

as per MS-Popfly its also provode same feature like GME and more user friendly than yahoo pipes and GME.

Nice comparison. However, I feel Yahoo pipes and Google Mashups editor should be thought of as complementing technologies instead of competing ones – Yahoo pipes is very good at cleaning up feeds, applying operators etc and GME is great at creating UI, event handling etc.

Yahoo and google may fight with each other one who is better, but for developers is great to have access to both these great technologies and use them together to build something powerful!

I agree that google mashup editor is much more powerfull, but as you said it’s strictly for coders. You have to really know your way through javascript and html of course to fully utilize mashup editor’s power.
Pipes are much more intuitive for the common internet user.
