I can achieve it

December 29th, 2008 § No Comments Yet

The other evening, we watched “Ghajini“, a much anticipated (or should I say hyped) Hindi film. Said to be based on the cult classic, “Memento“, unfortunately it wasn’t even close to what I was expecting of an Aamir Khan film (specially after his previous film, which is India’s entry to the Oscars next year). I guess ‘Ghajini’ would have turned out to be a bit better, if they would have simply plagiarised it completely.

Never-the-less, I thought I’ll note down an interesting quote from the film…

I can achieve it.
No, I’m not being arrogant. I’m just confident.
There’s a thin line between arrogance and confidence.
I can achieve it, speaks my confidence.
Only I can achieve it, would speak of arrogance.

Kaun Kehta Hai, Aadmi Apni Kismat Khud Likhta Hai?
(Who says a man scripts his own destiny by himself?)

ha raham, ha raham, farma e-Khuda…
(remember Him, and keep chanting his name…)
ha raham, ha raham, farma e-Khuda…
mehfuz har kadam karna e-Khuda, e-Khuda
(… and He’ll make sure each step you take is a safe one…)
mehfuz har kadam karna e-Khuda, e-Khuda…

For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of our tasks; the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.
