I just came across your music on OpSound, and it’s great!!!! Being a programmer myself I was even happier when I visited the artist’s website and found out you were a programmer also. I find a lot of programmers are involved in music, so it doesn’t surprise me. I’ve often thought there is a real connection there, though I’ve never figured out what it was.
I really loved the PacMan story. What a great solution to the problem. I’ve often said that in programming the best way to solve a problem is just to find a way of looking at the problem that will make it a trivial to solve, and PacMan is a case in point.
The fact that programming makes rich use of abstraction means that you can often go to some level below the current level of abstraction to solve a problem that would be very hard to solve at the current level. Many programmers today don’t know what’s below the abstractions they are using, and totally miss out on this powerful tool.
Anyway, thank you for some great music, and very thought provoking articles.
