I’ve grown fond of Kailash Kher‘s sufi singing after listening to his song Saiyaan. Not only does he have a great voice, but he also has a great sense of humor from what I saw of him on a TV show. The Ideal Fusion Duo
The other day my dad was raving about a certain piece of instrumental fusion (based on classical Indian music) that was performed on the Indian Idol show as an exclusive feature. The fusion (jugalbandhi) was performed by Adnan Sami (a renowned singer, who also happens to be one of the fastest keyboard players in the world), and Fazal Qureshi (a tabla maestro, son of Ustad Alla Rakha & brother of Zakir Hussain). So I looked around for it and was truely dazzled by the performance. Here’s the video.
What has an iPhone got to do with Social Networking?
The latest scoop from the social web is that, both Google and Yahoo are working on next generation social networks. Yahoo is working on a service called Mosh (certainly to replace 360), while Google is working on Socialstream (possibly to replace Orkut, which is pretty dormant outside India and Brazil).
In other buzz, Facebook might file an IPO, to become the first Web2.0 service to go public.
And finally, Apple is planning a cheaper Nano-based phone, while the Linux-based open source iPhone-rival called OpenMoko is here (at almost half the price of an iPhone).
