Its funny and a bit weird as well how news is often ironical. The information mesh in today’s digital world is often sarcastic on human progression. What made me put this thought down was actually a recent news story titled Quake rescuers send mules to remote valleys highlighting the rescue efforts following the earthquake devastation in Pakistan & Kashmir, by sending supply laden mules to remote villages in the inaccessible valleys. In a separate, vaguely reflective, article titled “The Search for E.T.“, the vision to find alien extraterrestrial life in the universe by sending unmanned probes and enlighten our cosmic loneliness.
For me, the analogy behind this thought is multi-layered — that of human ignorance, that of faith versus reason, that of destruction versus exploration and the fact that we still have a long way to go.
